My HW for Chem, which doesn't relate to chem at all.
Paco is 18, graduating high school with top scores. He reflects upon the day that changed his life.
The thunderclouds grumbled furiously over Paco Lim’s head. He had to rush home from soccer practice, rain wouldn’t be good news. Maybe it was the rain, but Paco’s youthful joy seemed to be sapping away. Paco saw his mother as he approached his house..But with a him? The him definitely wasn’t his father. The good Lord knows that Paco’s father was killed by thugs three years ago. Yes, at the ripe age of 7, Paco watched, stunned, the sight of his father being beaten into a bloody pulp by thugs. Perhaps it was Mr.Lim’s fault for forgetting to carry his wallet that day. He should have known that having no money would send the nice gentlemen into a fritz. Yes, this is what Paco believed to be true. His dad was the perpetrator and the men we’re minding their own business.
The young boy’s eyes could only stare at the “him” in pure curiosity. The man in his eyes, he was familiar, where was he from? He could only stare from a distance as his mind’s memory bank worked over time. The “him”…Now they turned into “hims”? They began to pick up his struggling mother. A car pulled over and she disappeared as quickly as he spotted her and the “him”.
Paco was in pure shock; his 10 year old mind couldn’t comprehend what just happened. His mother promised him love, she promised him she wouldn’t leave like his father. Paco was mad, furious, but went through an epiphany. Yes, that man was his 1st grade teacher! How could he forget such an obvious character. He created a plan, yes, a plan. Going after the runaway mom will be his plan.
Different ideas warped around the boy’s brain. His father always told him that the police were scary people. If he went to the police, his family would cease to exist. Or, that’s what his late father told him. Paco chose the best plan of action would be to ask Mr.Yeist at school. After all, he works there, why wouldn’t he show up?
A day past, Paco was heading to school once again. He thought about anyone relating to Mr.Yiest. There was Ms.Furchun, his close friend? He thought they were close, people would only hold hands and hug if they’re friends. There was also Mrs.Cheven, the principal, but everyone called her Mrs.Chief. But oddly, Mrs.Chief and Ms.Furchun we’re friends. They would often yell at each other. Paco wondered why they couldn’t be friends. After all, they’re both friends with Mr.Yeist.
The boy couldn’t find Mr.Yeist anywhere, so he chose to ask Ms.Furchun. Ms.Furchun greeted him with a smile, only to quickly turn it upside down after hearing the words “Mr.Yeist” and “my Mom” come out of his mouth. She yelled at Paco, telling him he should “check that cow’s play pen.” Paco was surprised, he asked her about Mr.Yeist, not some cow with a play pen. As he was walking away from Ms.Furchun, he heard Ms.Furchun yell again. “Ya, I know. If Mark Yeist thinks that he can bring that woman to my house, he’s got another thing coming. A light bulb went off in his head, Ms.Furchun and Mr.Yeist was married! Maybe Mr.Yeist wanted his mom to make him some food, but Ms.Furchun didn’t want help in her cooking. That must be it! His mom was a great cook, but didn’t like cooking. So that’s why she struggled! Mom and Mr.Yeist seemed awful close when she visited him for a teacher-parent conference.
Paco only needed to find out where Mr.Yiest and Ms.Furchun lived. Mrs.Chief would know, Mrs.Chief said she knew everything. Paco went to the principal’s office. He told her had happened and how he needed his mom home now. Ms.Chief’s eyes widened, she seems to be stunned, shocked, disgusted maybe? Ya, it is pretty sad and disgusting to have someone cook for you because you don’t know how. Mrs.Chief grabbed Paco’s hand and had the school’s police officer come meet her. She told Paco to tell the “nice man” what had happened. Paco refused, he told the policeman to go away and called him stupid. The policeman got mad; this is the reason why you don’t trust these people. Mrs.Chief gave Paco the evil eye and told the policeman everything. Paco felt betrayed, as if he had lost his sense of trust on Mrs.Chief.
Mrs.Chief and The policeman took off in the police car. Paco wasn’t allowed in, which he thought was completely outrageous. After all, without his information, they wouldn’t have somewhere to go! It didn’t matter, he remembered where Mr.Yiest remembered now. He lived down the block from his house, his mother went over there once. They were talking about his grades, maybe. Paco left school, apparently no one cared that a child was leaving an elementary school alone. As he got closer to Mr.Yiest’s home, he was flashing colors of red and blue. Loud fireworks and cheering, it must be a party! Yes, his mom was teaming up with Mr.Yiest so they could throw him a party! He ran faster to the house, but he soon found out it was no party.
He could hear his mom, she was…screaming? Maybe the cake got burnt, yes, that’s probably what happened. The fireworks weren’t fireworks, they were guns. The flashing lights were police cars. The police were firing at his mom and Mr.Yiest! The evil police were trying to kill them! Paco instantly began to throw all his rage into a nearby policeman. After all, the evil men were trying to kill his Mom and past teacher. A single bullet pierces Mr.Yiest, he falls, and everything ends. The policemen stop firing and his mother ran to hug Paco. Paco was surprised at what just happened, why was his mother happy? Paco asked her this with her replying, “I’m happy because I’m safe and you’re safe. That’s all that matters now.” His Mother further went on to explain that he had kidnapped her because he wanted to hurt her. The cops didn’t buy that.
There had been some speculation that Mrs.Lim and Mr.Yiest were drug dealers, Mr.Yiest was suppose to be her partner. She tried to run away with their money, so Mr.Yiest came after her, or so they say. There were also evidence that Mrs.Lim and Mr.Yiest’s affair had something to do with the murder of Mr.Lim. There were crazy theories out the Wahoo.
Paco (current time) is ready to publish his autobiography, written with the truth in mind. The truth about how his father was murdered by a love affair between his drug dealer mother and drug dealer teacher. How she committed suicide during bail, how he left for foster care. But nothing matters now; he just wants to help others who went through his pains. Paco says, he will be forever fighting till the end.
